Inner City Agencies Foundation
The Inner City Agencies Foundation (ICAF) is a joint initiative that combines the efforts of seven inner city agencies to fundraise for and provide a network of services to alleviate poverty-related problems such as housing, addiction, healthcare, nutrition and education in Edmonton.
ICAF was formed because there is an inner city, there is poverty, and because there are people who need help desperately. In 1995, staff, board members and volunteers from the seven agencies established the ICAF committee.
Inner City Awareness Week was proclaimed in March of 1996 by Mayor Bill Smith. It is accompanied annually by the Mac&Cheese Luncheon and the Inner City Roast Beef Dinner. The Mac&Cheese Luncheon is a great success and a valued support to ICAF's on-going initiatives. The Inner City Roast Beef Dinner provided hot meals to inner city residents last year.
